  1Product Description

The BMS is mainly used for the power battery system of the HEV,The BMS can detect the power batterys on line and monitor the battery in real time to provide the voltage,current,temperature,SOC,state of insulation and other information,and meanwhile judge the operating state of the battery and discreteness of battery pack in real time.If there is a failure,the battery management system sends the failure signal to the ECU or anyother unit on the CAN bus of the electric vehicles,even in some worst state ,shuttdown the output of the power battery system.

3,TECHNICAL PARAMETERS OF THE MASTER UNIT:

  • Current measurement accuracy: ≤ 1% (-300A-300A)
  • SOC measurement accuracy:≤ 8% (pure electric operating conditions)
  • Operating temperature: - 25-65
Operating Voltage: (15V - 25V)/DC
System Clock: provide time for systems to recording data in real-time
Insulation Detection: detect the insulation resistance between vehicle chassis and battery, and in accordance with the national electric vehicles insulation standards :GS / T 18384.1 ~ 18384. 3-2001, related to grading, classification code.(standards and recommended participation in the following table):

Current SOC: gain the current sampling by Current Sensor (300A/75mV) to complete the current measurement and AH accumulated.
CAN1: used for communication between the vehicle controller and sent the important parameters of batteries to the integrated controller to optimize driving.
CAN2: used to send the single cell voltage and temperature data to the combination of instrument display and charger.
CAN0: used to internal communication between the master control unit and control unit
RS-232: connect PC and handheld for monitoring and data downloading for user
 

4,TECHNICAL PARAMETERS OF THE SLAVER UNIT:

  • Operating Temperature Range: - 25-65
  • Voltage Max Measurement Error: ≤ ± 15mV (2V-5V)
  • Temperature Max Measurement Error: ≤ ± 1 ℃ (-40 - 125 ℃)
Power conversion:15-25V/DC to 5V/DC
Temperature detection:The Battery Management System can check the temperature sensor, and check the temperature sensor being lost or not; at the same time, the temperature sensor can work well or not, All the Temperature sensor be marked in n Each battery box will be installed some temperature sensors, 4 for small box and 6 for large box.
Voltage Measurement: Measurement up to 12 cells in series per part in one unit, we can select how many cells as we need, 60 cells at most per slaver unit;
CAN0: the communication interface between master control unit and the slaver control unit.
Fan Control:Start fan in several states: Fan power: <25W (or 1A).

5.1 BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PARAMETER SETTING
5.1 Setting master control unit parameters (according to different protocols to determine parameters)
  • 1, set the imbalance threshold: threshold temperature: 5 ℃  
Voltage threshold: 0. 4V
  • 2, set the threshold of a serious fault:
The battery temperature threshold: 55
   Threshold voltage limit: 3.9V
   Lower threshold voltage: 2.0V
  •   3, set the maximum voltage (charge): voltage threshold:
  • 4, set unmatch parameters: threshold voltage: 1.8V
  • 5, set the total voltage threshold:
Upper limit threshold voltage: 653V
Lower threshold voltage: 448V
  • 6, set the total current threshold:
Maximum charge current: 1 50A
 Maximum discharge current: 300A
  • 7, set the relay control thresholds:
SOC is too high: 90%
 SOC is too low: 50%
Single battery voltage is too high: 3.85V
5.2 Setting slaver control unit parameters
1, set the fan temperature:         
Open fan threshold temperature: 40
Close fan threshold temperature: 35 ℃    
2 set the single limit threshold voltage:
Single voltage too high 3.85V
Single voltage too low: 2.5V
   5.3 Parameter Description
  5.3.1Setting master control unit parameters
  • 1, set the imbalance threshold:
Voltage threshold --- When the difference between a cell battery voltage with the average voltage is larger than this value, the management system will send the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN
Temperature threshold--- When the difference between a cell battery Temperature with the average Temperature is larger than this value, the management system will send the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN
  • 2, set the threshold of a serious fault:
Temperature threshold--- When a cell voltage is higher than this value, the management system will send the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN
The upper limit threshold Voltage--- when the voltage over this value, the management system will send the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN.
The lower limit threshold voltage --- When a section of the battery voltage falls below this value, the management system will send the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN.
  • 3, set the maximum voltage        
Voltage threshold --- When the battery management system is charging, the upper limit of single voltage control count is the voltage threshold.
  • 4, Parameter settings of unmatched: When the voltage between unit and unit exceeds this value, the management system will send the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN.
  •  5,The total voltage threshold setting:
The upper threshold of Voltage --- when The total battery voltage over this value, the management system will send the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN.
The lower threshold of voltage --- when The total battery voltage falls below this value, the management system will send the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN.
  • 6.Total current threshold setting:
Maximum charge current --- When Battery management system measures the reverse current is higher than this value the management system sends the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN
Maximum discharge current--- When Battery management system measuring the forward current value higher than this value, the management system sends the corresponding alarm flag bit to CAN
  •  7,The relay switch threshold:

     

Battery SOC too high ---When the Battery SOC over this value, the battery management system will shut down the relay, and the output will be connected to 24V-, otherwise the output will be open
 
SOC too low --- When the SOC exceeds this value, the battery management system will shut down the relay, and the output will be connected to 24V-, otherwise the output will be open
Single battery voltage too high --- when Single battery voltage exceeds this value, the battery management system will turn down the relay, and the output will be connected to 24V-, otherwise the output will be open
